If I could give this company a 0 star…
If I could give this company a 0 star rating I would.
On arrival at Alicante airport you have to take a ticket to confirm your place in the queue.il it stated on the ticket we had 15 other customers in front of us. There were 6 desks working so I’m therory it should have taken just over 2 customers each desk before we were seen. Over 1.5 hrs later and we were still waiting. There is a queue jump feature available for €35 euros so many people took this option. Unfortunately none of the desks stayed with the non upgraded queue so you never knew how long off you were in the queue. Also we got our ticket at 23.01 and there is a hidden charge of €40 after 23.00.
If you are considering key and go a lady next to us waiter over 1hr with key and go and was then told she had complimentary queue jump as the key and go machines lock at 23.00. This seems ridiculous as the whole point of an automated key and go machine is it should be available 24th a/day.
Terrible terrible service and experience. I would not like expect this from a large reputable company like gold car and would avoid at all costs.

Scammers - DO NOT USE
Scammers - do not use. 6 weeks after returning the car, I notice a charge for $150 on my credit card. When I called Goldcar to find out what the charge relates to, they explained that the car was dirty and it was a cleaning charge. €150 to clean a car!! When I returned the car they said everything checked out. It’s really shocking that they can charge your account 6 weeks later with no communication or authorisation. Now I’ve read other comments on here, I can see other people have been scammed in a similar manner.

Anyone that had used them recently I recommend changing your bank card.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

The worst company ever .
The worst company ever .
We have booked the car on line paying everything even the extra insurance .via Do You Spain .When we picked up the car in Malaga airport I was asked for the petrol deposit .In fact they took £224.24 from my credit card (rental for 3days ).
When we drop off the car they asked for €50 for the late return but it was still during the office hours ,we refused as there wasn’t any information about it ,(on the booking form states no fee )I asked them where was the information they couldn’t find it .
When I came home we shocked founding that my credit card was debited additional £123 .When I called them they said it was for a special cleaning .Completely nonsense,we used the car for 2days only and it wasn’t any dirt .They haven’t responded to our emails and never refunded the money.Never ever !!!!!

It was absolutely amazing
It was absolutely amazing. We were worried at first, it was our first car rental abroad, but the staff were absolutely amazing, the car was clean and in perfect condition, the airport check-in only took 5 minutes and the drop off too. Definitely the best decision to rent a car and discover Lanzarote differently. Thank you Goldcar for the perfect approach and I believe you are also in countries other than Lanzarote. THE WORST COMPANY EVER IN SPAIN
I HAVE HIRED THE CAR IN MALAGA .THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD WITH ABSOLUTELY UMREALISTIC AMOUNT .THEY IGNORES MY EMAIL.I PAID EVERYTHING IN ADVANCE VIA DO YOU SPAIN .THEY SAID THAT NEEDED DEPOSIT FOR PETROL BUT THEY CHARGED £222.24 THEN WHEN I RETURNED THE CAR WANTED ANOTHER 50 EUROS WHEN I REFUSED THEY CHARGED ME £123 FOR EXTENDED SPECIAL CLEANING .THEY MADE UP THE CHARGES .AWAY FROM THEM .I HAVE USED THE COMPANY IN ITALY ,THERE HAVE BEEN NO SUCH PROBLEMS .

Avoid them as if they hand out Covid infections
Just been told that according to their insurance company I was in an accident and I have to fill out a report, damage to car 402 euros, they cannot tell me when or where !!! Oddly enough the check out damage and the checkin damage are marked exactly the same. I too when returning the car asked to have it checked over , despite there being 4 checkers all refused to do so. This is not my first dispute, last time settled easily however this is the last time I will deal with them .

Robotic inflexible staff. Do not use
We booked 2 cars to pick up from Malaga for a week. When our flight was cancelled with 7 hours notice by WizzAir I phoned and then emailed Goldcar to let them know and said we would therefore be picking up the cars 24 hours later. They REFUSED to allow this saying the deal was non-amendable and non-refundable. We had to book ANOTHER 2 cars (not with Goldcar!) and pay twice. Despite notifying them and despite the change being down to a cancelled flight.
We have used them many times in the past but will never do so again. Such a lack of humanity and flexibility when we have paid for a week anyway so what does it matter to them if we are 24 hours late collecting. Absolute robots.

All in all honest opinion.
All in all honest opinion.
Car was ok although not even close to what I‘ve ordered and what I‘ve payed for.
Costs were very high (10 days for around 750€ / Toyota Yaris).
Eventhough I‘ve book full coverage online, still had to pay 300€ on the spot for full coverage.
Service hotline is absolutely horrible (waiting for 25 minutes on the phone then the other side hangs up. Reached the service and road assistance on fourth call, didn‘t help me) - so don‘t call them if you have an accident.
Only helpful person was the manager at giving back the car.
Got charged another 50€ when giving back for „special cleaning“ because there was sand inside the car which could‘ve been cleaned within 5 minutes. Apparently it‘s wrong to use the car to go to the beach 😂
Had to talk to them for around 40 minutes so they file a complaint - not hoping to get any money back.

All in all 1/10. never gonna get another car there. Don‘t let them fool you.

After Whizz air cancelled our flight I informed Goldcar that I would be 24hours late.
They refuse to let us have the two cars we had booked for the week, telling us they only allow for a 6 hour late pick up. They then cancel the agreement and keep the money. Talk about kicking somebody when they are down.
I have used Goldcar in the past but never again.
They really make you feel like you have been cheated by some low life fraudster..

Goldcar Car Rental Rip Off
I hired a car from Goldcar to pick up at Almeria airport terminal on 14th July 2022 for 2 weeks costing £560. The deal was called crazy full with no cancellation or changes permitted. They insisted that this deal was made clear on booking which it wasn't. Due to Covid I asked to pick up the car 2 days later and was told that this was considered a cancellation and would need to book and pay again. What a rip off. The customer service team were dismissive and I had to pay for car hire a second time. obviously I would never book with Goldcar again.
I would have considered a change in booking to be that which is outside of the time period booked not within it. The company are wholly unreasonable. Do not book with them.
